Fritz Heizmann was born in Germany in 1944 and completed his Diploma in International Forwarding in Stuttgart.

In 1968 Fritz joined Schenker Stuttgart, after spending some years in Australia and where he returned to Schenker in 1970. Fritz became a Schenker Melbourne Branch Manager in 1974, a Director of Schenker Australia in 1982, Managing Director from 1995 to 2002 and was Chairman from 2002 to 2004.

Fritz has decades of active involvement in many facets of the logistics industry. He is a licensed customs broker, was a councilor of the Australian German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, industry member of Government committees and is a Director and Chairman of the Australian Federation of Freight Forwarders. His responsibility on the board of Schenker extends to legal issues and contracts, customs aspects and his favourite work involvement, which is project cargo.

Fritz lives in Malvern with his wife Marjorie and youngest son Andrew. Fritz has a married son with a grandchild living interstate and a married daughter with two grandchildren living nearby. Fritz is an active rower and walker and enjoys sailing and skiing. Marjorie and Fritz are experienced walkers and travelers.
