Leigh Porter has worked in the Forwarding, Customs and Logistics IT industry for 25 years. For some 21 years Leigh was managing director of Software Craft Pty Ltd providing the "Scope" software package for the international trade and transport sector. In February 2005 Software Craft merged with CargoWise edi and Leigh is now employed in a position as senior project manager for that company. Software Craft was a long-standing member of Tradegate.

Leigh has a Bachelor of Business degree and Accounting qualifications. He was instrumental in the design and development of the Scope package, so has a strong knowledge of the supply chain and its processes from both the operational and management perspective. A strong focus of his experience has been related to electronic data interchange related to applications of the Australian Customs Service, industry information providers and applications related to third-party warehousing and local transport. Leigh has also provided consulting services to major companies in this industry sector relating to development of their in-house accounting, warehouse and transport systems.

In addition Leigh has a combination of business management skills gained both formally and through the years of experience running his own successful company and strong technical IT skills relating to software development and implementation.

Leigh is married with two children and outside the IT industry his interests include competitive motor racing (he has won various racing events including a state championship) and snow skiing. Leigh serves on the committees of several sporting bodies.
