MessageXchange

MessageXchange is Tradegate's highly secure any-to-any messaging service that translates an electronic message from the sender's format to the receiver's format and vice versa. This enables true straight-through-processing (STP) eliminating errors and improving timeliness.

MessageXchange is designed to enable straight-through-processing. That is, the receipt of information in such a form that it can be simply uploaded into the business application of the receiver without the need to re-key the data.

This service is ideal for customers who have:

  • high volumes of data (or documents) to process e.g. several hundred commercial invoices; or
  • small volumes of documents but large volumes of data e.g. a small number of import declarations where there is a high volume of line items contained in the commercial invoice; or
  • time restrictions on processing data e.g. waiting on data from overseas before Customs declarations can be finalised; or
  • trading partners either locally or overseas, and would like to transact with those customers in an electronic manner, but the file format of the data is different to their back-end software system.

MessageXchange can receive information from a variety of communications protocols including:

  • Email (SMTP - simple mail transfer protocol)
  • FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and FTPS (Secure File Transfer Protocol)
  • HTTP and HTTP/S (Hypertext transfer protocol and secure hypertext transfer protocol); and
  • IBM Websphere MQ

MessageXchange can receive a number of different file formats and tanslate those formats into other formats including:

  • UN/EDIFACT EDI - the EDI standard used by the international trade and transport community;
